Visual Merchandiser
12 Month Fixed Term
Up to £35,000 + Bonus + Pension + BUPA + ShareSave + 6.6 weeks holiday + Hybrid Working (3 days per week in the office)

Key responsibilities
Each Visual Merchandiser is responsible for the design and execution of product layouts in B&Q stores in the UK and Ireland, ensuring that those layouts deliver the needs of the B&Q customer and UK Market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Insights: Dive deep into how our customers shop and the projects they undertake, both in-store and online, by analysing customer insights and market trends.
- Product Knowledge: Master our product range and understand how each item can benefit our customers.
- Store Operations: Gain a thorough understanding of store operations to simplify processes for our store teams.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Visual Merchandising (VM) and Commercial teams, ensuring the needs of B&Q’s customers are central to planning and layout development.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead by learning from other businesses to continually enhance Visual Merchandising at B&Q.
- VM Principles: Define and update clear VM principles using commercial tools, aligning them with the overall commercial strategy.
- Innovative Design: Create innovative product layouts and solutions, from initial concepts to physical construction and store implementation.
- Consistent Layouts: Ensure product layouts adhere to brand guidelines, are easy and safe for customers and store teams, inspire shoppers, and maximize sales and margin returns.
- Problem Solving: When business principles can’t be fully achieved, collaborate with stakeholders to find and agree on the best compromises.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders throughout the planning process.
- Effective Implementation: Clearly communicate product layout details to ensure correct implementation.
Required skills & experience
Required Skills & Expereince:
- Relevant Experience: Have experience in Visual Merchandising, Commercial, Store Operations, or Store Design roles.
- Customer Understanding: Respond to the needs of both internal and external customers.
- Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office; desirable skills in Sketch Up, Space Planning Software, and CKB.
- Trend Awareness & Creativity: Stay ahead of trends with a creative mindset.
- Problem Solving & Innovation: Tackle challenges with innovative solutions.
- Imagination & Visualization: Use your imagination to visualize concepts effectively.
- Outstanding Communication: Excel in both written and verbal communication at all levels.
