At B&Q we have a hybrid approach to working to increase flexibility in when and where we work. For this role we would be looking for you to be in the office 3 days per week.
Key responsibilities
You will be working as a key part of the project team to produce and distribute store plans & supporting documentation to deliver Neutron and Range Change activity in line with the range change calendar.
You will support with the planning of all Space Change and store plan accuracy updates ensuring our planning database is accurate and aligned to the Matrix and Planning Principles whilst maximising profitable use of space.
- Using blueprint and planning principles develop and produce range change plans within agreed timescales whilst ensuring the most effective use of space is achieved and the principles have been consistently applied
- Build & maintain good working relationships with agency colleagues. Using Constructive feedback, plan auditing, effective use of reports and project PIR to ensure planning principles and standards are maintained & opportunities identified to drive the process forward whilst always managing the balance of time, cost & quality.
- Create and maintain mapping documents within agreed timescales and auditing to ensure appropriate module for footage and equipment
- Manage and communicate details of all plan changes and issues supporting plan revisions to all relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Manage and complete live plan updates in a timely manner.
- Support all additional Space Change through plan updates in line with agreed amendments.
- Support with maintaining accuracy of the store plan through reviewing and actioning discrepancy reports
- Manage and develop relationships with Range and Space Change planners, VM's, Planogrammers and Planning Agencies.
- Provide progress updates on allocated workload to the Store Planning Manager.
- Maintain detailed audit trail of all plan changes post implementation
Required skills & experience
- Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- A passion for accuracy and attention to detail ensuring that errors and omissions are spotted and quality maintained.
- Strong communication skills
- An interest in retail space and store formats.
- Store planning knowledge desirable
- Experience of working in retail an advantage
- Experience utilising an AutoCAD based system would be an advantage but not critical to the role
- Working knowledge of MS Excel, with experience of other MS Office programs & SharePoint
- A resilient self-starter, motivated to anticipate business needs
- Ability to work in a methodical manner, with a structured and disciplined working style
- Plans and prioritises own time/workload to achieve targets
- Team worker with ability to work on own initiative
- Deal with issues in a pro-active positive way whilst ensuring that we hold people to account.
- Deliver in a changing environment
- Full UK Driving Licence and ability to travel throughout the UK with some occasional overseas travel
