Join us as aa Supply Chain Manager and you’ll be a big part of this.

Role Purpose: As a Supply Chain Manager at B&Q you’ll lead the plan and strategy for your category area to deliver optimised stock availability for a specific product range. You’ll lead a team of Supply Chain Analysts to make sure our B&Q customers can always get the products they want across all distribution channels, including store, online and click and collect.

Key responsibilities

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Supply Chain Analysts to ensure achievement of maximum market performance targets in line with Company objectives.
  • Effectively manage team performance
    • Support and develop the Assistant Supply Chain Analysts within the team to create a future talent pool
    • Coach and develop members of direct team and increase awareness within the function of Supply Chain best practice
    • Support and drive the S&L Strategy within your team
  • Develop, manage and maintain key relationships with Store Operations, Logistics, Category teams, Systems, Group Supply, OSC and Vendors
  • Contribute to and support the Commercial Plan by developing, communicating, and executing stock plans for a specific Category area, including smooth execution of events (e.g. promotion, range reviews) and launch on time in full every time.
  • Develop and implement forecasting/stock planning to a defined accuracy level.
  • Accountable for all aspects of stock within product range:
    • On shelf availability in stores / online
    • Stock health, flows and budgets
    • Cost and margin control including stock exit at lowest possible clearance price and in line with commercial entry plan
  • Consolidate monthly stock flows, understand the monthly variances and required mitigation plans
  • Effective management of the Supply vendor base to achieve defined levels of delivery performance whilst supporting the growth plans of the business and mitigating risk
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures that significantly improve the category’s Supply Chain performance.
  • Live the values within the Leadership Signature
  • Role Model stakeholder management
  • Regularly conduct store, competitor and vendor visits

Required skills & experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a Supply Chain and/or Merchandising role, in an FMCG or retail environment
  • Experience with working to a minimum 12month forward horizon
  • Experience of people management, ability to coach, develop, motivate and lead a team
  • Experience of forecasting and replenishment systems, preferably using SAP F&R & APEX
  • Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (availability, inventory days..)
  • Experience of Budget control and creation
  • Commercially focused with ability to optimise product range in store to drive sales.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Able to analyse complex data efficiently and effectively.
  • Can challenge effectively and confidently, articulating own views clearly and constructively
  • Recognises own development needs and is able to create a plan to grow
  • Able to plan and execute stock exit at lowest possible clearance costs
  • Can monitor purchases and intake of stock to the business to maximise availability and control stock levels.
