Join us as a Marketplace Planning & Performance Lead and you’ll be a big part of this. 

Role Purpose: Responsible for leading the strategic and commercial planning of the marketplace. This includes long-term and in-year forecasting, pricing strategy, promotional planning and execution, and overall performance monitoring. The role ensures the marketplace achieves its long-term objectives, operates efficiently and profitably, and aligns with broader business goals. It involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to steer the business and drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategic planning and commercial forecasting for the marketplace, including GMV, revenue, take-rate and margin targets
  • Develop and manage the annual and in-year commercial calendar, including promotional events, discounting strategies, and pricing frameworks
  • Lead the performance monitoring of marketplace KPIs, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to make recommendations and inform decision-making
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Marketplace Account Management, and Data teams to ensure alignment on pricing, promotions, and assortment strategies
  • Drive business steering through regular performance reviews, scenario planning, and strategic and tactical recommendations
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics to ensure robust forecasting models, data-driven planning processes and reporting
  • Support the development of category-level plans and ensure they align with overall marketplace objectives
  • Champion continuous improvement in planning processes, tools, and governance
  • Contribute to the marketplace long-term vision and investment roadmap

Required skills & experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent digital culture & deep understanding of the marketplace business models. Experience building and driving effective marketplace account management, growth and profitability strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen, experience in negotiating and engaging with businesses
  • Ability to influence people and organisations to promote a “online-first” culture
  • Innovative Thinking – Embraces and champions new ideas and encourages others to do likewise
  • Outstanding organisational and time management skills
