B&Q Foundation

We've established our charity, B&Q Foundation, because we’re passionate about improving homes and community spaces for those who need it most. We provide grants to local charities to support improvement projects. Whether it’s a community hall or care centre, hostel or hospice, we believe that anyone can improve their environment around them to make life better.

Supporting communities during COVID-19

At this critical time, we’ve been working closely with the NHS centrally and locally, to donate supplies of masks, goggles and visors to hospitals and key workers where they are needed most. Our store teams are also supporting their communities locally by donating a range of other items, from paint to plants, which are urgently needed by community organisations, including hospices and care homes.

Our partnership with Shelter

Since launching our partnership in 2017, we’ve raised over £1.7 million for Shelter, the leading charity tackling poor housing and homelessness. These donations fund Shelter’s DIY Skills Adviser Service, providing advice and practical help to anyone struggling with bad housing or homelessness. Together, we believe everyone has the right to a safe home.

B&Q Community project: Reuse & Repaint

We work with Community RePaint to find use for paint that has been damaged in transit or whilst in our stores – whether that’s painting a community centre or making it available to families in need.

Community Re-Use is a great way to reduce waste by donating unsellable materials and products to support projects like community gardens or help out local schools and colleges.
