Southampton, Store Support Office/ Hybrid Working
At B&Q we have a hybrid approach to working to increase flexibility in when and where we work. This is a full-time opportunity, Monday - Friday. For this role we are looking for someone to be able to work from our head office 3 days a week, with flexibility to scale up when required.
We believe anyone can improve their home to make life better. From our Southampton Store Support office (SSO) we equip our stores, our people, and our whole business with everything it takes to help our millions of customers create a home they’ll love. Join us as a Category Analyst and you’ll be a big part of this.
In this role you’ll be an integral part of developing profitable sales, winning market share and ensuring customer satisfaction across all sales channels. Supporting the Category Manager and Category Planner, you’ll develop an end-to-end selling model based on strong product and market knowledge. You’ll create and use data reports to inform presentations, identifying any risks and proposing solutions to recommend trading, promotional and clearance pricing activity. And you’ll work closely with our Supply Chain team, providing expert advice on our product catalogue that will support them to manage stock availability and positioning within our stores.
Required skills & experience
You’ll be results driven with an analytical mind, and you’ll have plenty of experience working with PowerPoint and Excel. You’ll understand how to use financial reports and metrics to adapt and develop commercial plans and mitigate risk. Ideally, you’ll have worked in a retail environment before and have some understanding of product seasonality, planning and forecasting and how to use competitor insights to inform your recommendations. Importantly, you’ll be a collaborative team player and curious about new ways of working.
What's in it for me?
As well as a competitive salary, our benefits package includes an award-winning pension scheme, bonus, ShareSave options, 6.6 weeks holiday, payroll giving, an Employee Assistance Programme, shopping discounts, colleague wellbeing benefits and lots more!
As part of a great team, you’ll be supported to grow and encouraged to explore new career directions within the business and the wider group. And, because you’ll be inspiring great things for our customers and the whole business, you’ll do work worth caring about.
We want to ensure that all employees, future employees and applicants to all Kingfisher companies are treated equally regardless of age, gender, marital or civil partnership status, colour, ethnic or national origin, culture, religious belief, philosophical belief, political opinion, disability, gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation.
