Join us as a Lead Project Planner and you’ll be a big part of this. 

Role Purpose:

Support the development of the Commercial long-term strategy, identifying new opportunities and solving complex business challenges. Ensure alignment of the Commercial strategy which will drive growth & profitability across all channels.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development framework, co-ordination and alignment of the commercial strategy within B&Q and Kingfisher
  • Provide recommendations on strategic initiatives, through analysis of insight and data
  • Build OKR capability within commercial; coaching teams to craft impactful OKR’s, strengthen cross functional alignment and ensure a regular cadence
  • Act as a SME on OKR knowledge, facilitating training and providing recommendations for frameworks and systemisation for reporting
  • Programme manage cross-functional teams in the implementation of strategic initiatives, providing support and guidance to ensure strategic priorities are integrated into day to day operations.
  • Programme manage new business initiatives to support the delivery of the horizon strategy, providing regular updates to key stake holders.
  • Analyse new market trends, industry dynamics, competitor landscapes and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision making
  • Drive innovation in B&Q through highlighting and recommending new business opportunities and growth drivers
  • Represent commercial in cross functional strategic discussions, ensuring alignment on business initiatives
  • Lead and create Commercial presentations for the B&Q board, Kingfisher GE and PLC board, ensuring they engaging, clear to understand and all data and information accurate.

Key Business Relationships:

  • Work closely with the Commercial Director and D’ofs to facilitate an annual business planning cycle and craft annual OKR’s
  • Assist the commercial leadership team in delivering strategic priorities, tracking OKR’s and addressing business challenges
  • Ensures support of cross-functional teams to deliver business priorities
  • Collaborates with the Customer and Digital team to review data sources to make informed decisions and recommendations
  • Collaborates with the Finance team to review performance, identify profitable opportunities and build business recommendations
  • Continuously drive great stakeholder engagement across B&Q and Kingfisher, articulating plans, influencing peers and guiding the senior leadership team
  • Works collaboratively with the B&Q Strategy and PMO team

Deliverables

  • Ensure development of strategic and comprehensive Category plans that drive significant evolvement of B&Q.
  • Support the Commercial Director in developing a new working and engagement model for B&Q/O&S
  • Lead and embed the implementation of the new OKR framework and culture across the commercial function

Required skills & experience

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to simplify complex problems
  • Ability to analyse data, draw insights/ recommendations and translate them into realistic and implementable plans
  • Problem-solving skills, including being able to think creatively
  • Strong networking skills to ensure synergy and alignment in strategic initiatives
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Robust programme management skills
  • Strong proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel, and Monday.com
