Join us as a Data Science Manager and you’ll be a big part of this. 

Role Purpose: We're looking for a high-impact Data Science Manager to lead the development and delivery of complex analytics and machine learning solutions that unlock customer insight, drive smarter decision-making and fuel personalisation across B&Q and TradePoint. 

Key responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of data science projects, challenging current approaches and driving innovation.
  • Develop and deploy predictive models (e.g. churn, forecasting, customer value) and customer segmentations.
  • Build and improve marketing measurement models, including incrementality and effectiveness.
  • Translate business goals into data science solutions, working closely with product managers and stakeholders.
  • Manage project backlogs using Agile methodologies to prioritise analytical needs.
  • Support personalisation and targeting strategies across all customer channels.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and bring external thinking into B&Q’s data science practice.
  • Drive adoption of data science products across the business and ensure they deliver measurable value.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and advocate for data-driven decision-making.

Required skills & experience

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience working specifically with customer data
  • Advanced programming skills in Python or R, with strong SQL knowledge and clean coding practices.
  • Proven experience in machine learningpredictive modellingsegmentation, and time series analysis using tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Keras.
  • A track record of deploying data science solutions into production and driving measurable business impact.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience managing technical teams in Agile environments.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Passion for data qualitygovernance, and version control (GitHub).
  • A curious, collaborative approach and a flair for storytelling with data.
