Key responsibilities

This role sets and delivers the strategic roadmap for Performance Media Product Feeds for B&Q, leading one Product Feed Specialist and working with our technology and agency partners. This role will deliver highly sophisticated product feeds used across all performance media channels such as Google Shopping and Meta, as well as wider feeds for Retail Media and Reviews. The role is responsible for an industry leading test and learn program, driving measurable impact on paid media performance.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for over 45 product feeds which power business activities worth over £1.5m online revenue per month via our digital marketing and on site activity.
  • Create and implement our product feed strategy and objectives with long term considerations, aligned to support wider business objectives.
  • Define highly technical requirements for new product feeds, and manage their end-to-end creation from the start, through to ongoing iterations, including managing stakeholder expectations and timelines.
  • Work closely with complex IT teams across multiple business areas, to influence them and deliver world class product feeds.
  • Effectively prioritise simultaneous demanding requirements and manage stakeholder expectations on timelines.
  • Work closely with various marketing teams, to understand their channels and design and create feed solutions to enhance their marketing activity.
  • Design, run, measure and analyse tests using our product feeds to constantly improve the quality of our product feed data and therefore our marketing activity.
  • Develop a strong network across B&Q and Kingfisher to ensure that the development of all the product feed is communicated effectively.
  • Effectively communicate the value of product feeds and data to the business, to ensure they prioritise feed development accordingly.
  • Understand and create resolutions to resolve complex product feed incidents on a frequent basis, including under pressured circumstances such as Google advertising suspension warnings.
  • Manage senior stakeholder communications on the impact, solutions and timelines of multiple simultaneous critical feed incidents.
  • Take a hands-on approach to creating manual temporary resolutions for short term feed issues, including using the Feed management platform interface and Google Merchant Centre.
  • Define internal best practice for product feeds, including leading on this subject in the Kingfisher global Centre of Excellence which educates other Kingfisher businesses.
  • Influence the Product Data Team to ensure product data is created in line with feed best practice.
  • Optimise the product feed data (titles, descriptions, categorisation, custom labels and other attributes)
  • Report into the Head Of Performance Media & SEO, and leading one direct report Feed Specialist who is responsible for day-to-day trouble-shooting and promotion set-up.
  • Provide vision and direction to our agency partners, to drive the best outcomes for our product feeds.

Required skills & experience

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptionally strong ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple, clear and compelling ways.
  • Understanding of Google Shopping feed requirements and best practice, including Local Inventory Feeds, as well as the requirements and best practice of other major feeds such as Meta.
  • Strong Excel experience, with a minimum understanding of functions such as Vlookups, IF functions, and how they can be used to transform data.
  • Knowledge of paid advertising channels like Google and Meta and the core differences between them.
  • A curious mind-set and an exceptionally high attention to detail.
  • Google Shopping Advertising Assessment beneficial
