Join us as a Ecommerce Operations Strategy Lead and you’ll be a big part of this.
Role Purpose: Work to produce high quality analysis and insights. They interact with a varied group of stakeholders to build on the understanding of ecommerce operations performance across the organisation, helping to shape our future strategies, improve customer experience, deepen engagement, drive revenue, and improve business efficiencies across both B&Q and TradePoint.
Key responsibilities
Develop high-quality analysis related to understanding digital availability, fulfilment, operational health, and broader requirements relating to ecommerce operations.
Support with deep-dive and incremental analysis into performance to generate actionable insights.
Provide inputs to PIRs related to digital promotional activity, range reviews, and seasonal campaigns: identifying opportunities from an ecommerce operations lens and making informed recommendations.
Develop an understanding of fulfilment at B&Q, determine how the control processes impact customer experience, capacity, and cost.
Work with the Order Management Manager to recommend new rules for the distributed order management engine and build business cases to assess their impact.
Ensure a persistent focus on the customer; proactively displaying omni channel thinking and behaviours to drive a continuously improved customer centric experience.
Embrace a growth mindset, seeking out opportunities for your own learning, empowerment, experimentation and collaboration.
Support the analytics business partnering relationship with Logistics, Commercial, Retail Operations, and Digital Supply teams; invest in building a collaborative relationship with these key stakeholders, developing a strong understanding of key challenges, opportunities, and areas of focus.
Support the growth of new channels, Services, Digital, Marketplace and Retail Media with key analysis and information.
Be an active member of the wider data community across the group, engaging with the group data team and other banners across the group.
Bring external thinking to B&Q by maintaining an awareness of analytics usage in ecommerce and other sectors and by keeping abreast of competitor technology and developments.
Develop a good understanding of business processes, systems and data structure, ensuring that analysis is built on the most relevant range of data points as applicable.
Build winning partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders across Digital, Marketplace and Customer functions. Develop strategic awareness to translate stakeholder ambitions and goals into analytical challenges.
Help to define and develop website tagging requirements and recommendations.
Required skills & experience
- Experience working with process improvement methodology an advantage
- Strong planning and prioritisation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management. Must demonstrate an ability to influence outcomes and ensure accountability.
- A team player with a curious mindset, looking to further understanding of sometimes complex issues
- Passionate self-starter able to implement at pace

Sustainability
B&Q House has a biomass boiler, solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system. Our building also makes use of upcycled and recycled furniture and fittings, and features natural ventilation, heat retention and CO2 management, all via our very own weather station on the roof.
