Hybrid Working Southampton/London, Store Support Office
To lead all aspects of how B&Q attracts and recruits talented people to deliver the company strategy. Responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing and attraction plans ensuring we have the right skills in the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Shape and deliver a candidate experience that leaves people as B&Q advocates, whether or not they join the business
- Lead a team of Talent acquisition specialists to attract and recruit high quality candidates across our Store Support Office (SSO) and Retail (c7000 hires pa)
- Known as the Talent Acquisition leader across the business and first point of call for our leaders on escalations, strategies and thought leadership. The role should be well known for its expertise and guidance for acquiring talent into their functions.
- Strategic leader that is constantly market scanning for new TA strategies, tools, methods, bringing insight back into the function and plans for implementation
- Great reputation and is forward thinking bringing key topics and insight into the HR Board and Main board
- Clear TA Strategy with a future vision, planned milestones for 2 years ahead
- Deeply connected to the reality of the business and B&Qs key priorities and how we will have a strong impact on it. Strong relationships with the priority owners
- Always on, continuous improvement of the function. Has listening channels from the business and BPs to manage change and lead it with authority
- Contributes within the HR Leads community and is a leader not just in TA but across the HR function
- Outcomes metrics driven that uses data and insight to review and manage performance of the function along with course correcting where needs be. Data being the key driver in decisions, direction and reviewing performance
- Holds a high bar for TA team, manages performance and is constantly upgrading on the team through learnings paths and acquiring brilliant TA talent
- Leads complexity with a hybrid team and gives clear direction to outsourced partner and in-house team.
- Lead on modernising selection methodology to have confidence in our people decision making when finding new talent
- Lead the definition of a credible and compelling Employer Brand Proposition
- Ensure an endless supply of talented candidates by establishing and maintaining B&Q as an employer of choice
- Manage the resource and revenue budget to deliver the best value for money, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Ensure our recruitment approach is inclusive that holds no barriers for anyone to apply for roles
- Evolve our employer brand to attract candidates from areas of Technology, Digital, Marketplace and Data
- Create new sustainable sourcing channels to find candidates from our hard to fill areas such as Technology and Data
Required skills & experience
- Significant technical knowledge of all aspects of attraction and recruitment
- A strong and well-maintained understanding of industry trends and best practice
- The ability to manage and influence stakeholders effectively
- Experience of leading an in-house recruitment team in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Ability to drive data-driven decision making and ability to analyse recruitment metrics and optimise recruitment processes
- A proven track record of managing a high performing team
