Field Based - This position requires national mobility. It will involve some occasional night and weekend working as well as some presence in SSO.

Key responsibilities
Step into a change-making role where you will elevate how B&Q delivers digital, transformation, range change and asset protection across our stores. Be the force that turns ambition into action, shaping how operational change lands on the shopfloor, protecting our stock and our people, and empowering colleagues to deliver brilliantly for customers. You’ll convert strategy into execution, energising cross‑functional teams to land change right first time, safely and consistently, at pace and at scale
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Lead transformation that sticks
- Own the planning and implementation of retail change projects—delivering to time, cost and quality.
- Ignite store capability through clear guidance, coaching and engaging training so changes land sustainably.
- Champion simple, scalable ways of working; maintain documentation and crystal‑clear status reporting.
- Spot risks early, remove blockers fast and escalate with solutions.
Make range change happen nationwide
- Coordinate field, store and agency resources to deliver range reviews right first time and on time.
- Set the standard for issue capture, resolution and sign‑off—own the details at the shelf edge.
- Develop RCCO/RCA teams; drive consistency, safety and quality across regions.
- Partner with Retail Development, Change Planning and SSO to deliver end‑to‑end execution.
Protect what matters: stock, safety and sales
- Use data and insight to target risk stores; turn shrink trends into decisive action plans with store leaders.
- Deliver practical education on stock loss and compliance—virtual and in person—raising standards fast.
- Feed real store insight to Central Asset teams, accelerating fixes and improvements across the estate.
- Embed rigorous compliance to health & safety and operating procedures—every change, every time.
Inspire stakeholders and align the business
- Build trusted partnerships with Regional and Store Managers, Retail Leadership and cross‑functional teams.
- Tell a compelling story that unites teams behind clear priorities, outcomes and timelines.
- Represent the workstream on regional/divisional forums, keeping everyone informed and moving.
Coach for operational excellence
- Support new stores and new leaders with hands‑on coaching that lifts operational execution.
- Champion a customer‑first mindset so every change serves customers and colleagues better.
Key Deliverables:
- Change that lands first time: measurable adoption of new processes, reduced rework, and safer delivery.
- On‑time, on‑quality range reviews with robust sign‑off and fewer in‑store fixes post‑launch.
- Shrink reduction in targeted stores through actionable plans, education and compliance uplift.
- Clear, consistent reporting of milestones, risks and benefits to stakeholders and PMO.
- Colleague capability uplift evidenced by engagement, quality checks and store feedback

Required skills & experience
- Strategic doer: Proven at turning strategy into store‑ready execution across multi‑site retail.
- Change maker: Delivers complex change at pace; simplifies the complicated and brings others with you.
- Data‑driven operator: Interprets trends, spots risk and converts insight into action that improves outcomes.
- Influential communicator: Energises and aligns stakeholders from shopfloor to senior leadership.
- Coach & capability builder: Lifts performance through clear standards, practical training and feedback.
- Organised and outcomes‑focused: Manages multiple priorities; keeps the main thing the main thing.
- Tech‑confident: Comfortable with Excel, PowerPoint and project tools (e.g. Monday.com).
- Full Driving License

In B&Q house, you’ll enjoy an onsite gym, a subsidised Costa, a canteen and restaurant, prayer room, plus open plan and cosy work spaces, an outdoor picnic area, and bike sheds for those who cycle in.
Sustainability
B&Q House has a biomass boiler, solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system. Our building also makes use of upcycled and recycled furniture and fittings, and features natural ventilation, heat retention and CO2 management, all via our very own weather station on the roof.
