Account Manager - Marketplace

Work with a large volume of long tail merchants to drive growth on B&Q Marketplace. Support your merchants on mass by identifying and delivering sales opportunities at the right time and with the right tools to help them grow on B&Q. To achieve this, you will focus on volume communication channels and automation to drive engagement, rather than one to one service. For example, leading group webinars, developing self-serve training programs or briefing automated email flows via Salesforce.
Growth drivers will include, growing assortment, enhancing content quality, increasing product visibility, and sharing insight with merchants. Additionally, you will support your merchants in the escalation of operational or logical issues that impact customers. You should possess a passion for e-commerce, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.
Key responsibilities
- Delivering on target GMV, Take Rate and Range growth for your merchants.
- Establishing merchant growth strategies to drive long term success.
- Ensuring merchants meet and exceeded their quality metrics.
- Engaging sellers on mass to drive growth through assortment, pricing, traffic, and promotional activities on B&Q.
- Identify and develop ways to distribute Merchant Growth Tools in a way that merchants can self-serve.
- Contribute to sub-category planning and strategic development.
- Coordinate with other internal teams to ensure adequate support in areas like supply chain, customer service and marketing; ensure changes in our business create win-win scenarios for B&Q and our merchants.
- Analysing and preparing weekly performance figures to management, active participation in weekly and monthly business reviews
Required skills & experience
Work experience
• At least 2 years’ experience in marketplace environment, e-commerce trading, digital platform or similar.
• In depth knowledge of e-commerce sales drivers.
• Previous experience managing a large volume of merchants is a plus.
Skillset
• Strong merchant management and problem-solving skills with clear logical thinking.
• Able to deliver change and drive success against target through data led decision making.
• Good business judgment backed by analytical mindset and comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analyses.
• Experience growing online sales, marketing, activating categories and driving traffic via merchandising/content.
• Able to engage on mass and drive collective growth by identifying the best opportunities that impact all merchants.
• Extremely self-motivated and proactive with
constant can-do attitude
• Persuasive written, verbal communication, and presentation skills with ability to present up to senior management level.
